You must have noticed how nice and clean our grounds look. It has been a snowy, messy winter and a windy beginning of spring, leaving lots of dead leaves, sticks and bits of trash and papers strewn all over our grass and around our entrances. Just a few weeks ago, on Sunday, March 21, teens from Walking the Walk were outside our Center with rakes, brooms and trash bags cleaning up. And they even planted tulips in our planters!
The Interfaith Center of Greater Philadelphia declares that Walking the Walk puts their mission into action:
“Walking the Walk is an initiative that provides teenagers with experiences, skills and resources necessary to live in a diverse world, deepen their own identities, and break through walls that distance and divide them from people of other religious, cultural and economic backgrounds.”
In collaboration with the Haverford Township Clergy Association, Rev. Nicole D. Diroff of the Interfaith Center has brought its program to Delaware County. The Suburban Jewish Community Center-Bnai Aaron, Hope United Methodist, and Grace Trinity United Church of Christ are the Partner Communities and Havertown Center is the Community Service Partner.

Teens from these faith communities met five times from November to March for interfaith learning and dialogue, reflection and community building, focusing on the shared values of “Honoring My Self and My Heritage” and “Helping Those In Need." The teens finish this weekend, April 18, with Day of Environmental Action for Teenagers at the Cobbs Creek Community Environmental Center
Open to members of all faith expressions and aspiring to unity of collaboration and fellowship, the Haverford Township Clergy Association represents the faith communities of Haverford Township, professing a common belief in God and love of neighbor. With the goals of mutual support and respect, the Clergy Association encourages participation of congregants in interfaith activities in response to both civic and religious needs. Havertown Center
