Havertown Centeris now a Nationally Accredited Senior Center!
It’s official—we have been awarded accreditation from the National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC), a unit of the National Council on Aging (NCOA). Accreditation is the official recognition that a senior center is meeting its mission in a nationally accepted professional fashion and in compliance with the nine standards of senior center operations. Accreditation is the official mark of excellence.
It was wonderful hearing all that Havertown Center means to everyone. As staff, we all feel such pride in Havertown Center, recognizing how the Center is truly you, the members. Now it’s official and we need to find just the right place of honor for our NISC Senior Center Accreditation plaque.
P.S. - Congratulations to Hometown Center in Media (our sister MCSS senior center) for being awarded National Accrreditation too!
